Finalborgo is the oldest part of the municipality of Finale Ligure, probably dating back to before the 12th century. Today, the village is home to numerous activities and craft workshops, a reminder of the evocative medieval context that hosts them. There are several places of interest: in the centre of the mediaeval village, the Baroque-style Basilica of San Biagio and the monumental complex of Santa Caterina, where you can visit the Archaeological Museum, where you can learn about the history of Finale from prehistoric times to the present day, and where children can play with the various activities organised; near the Palazzo del Tribunale – an important building as its façade shows clear signs of the various transformations over the centuries – passing along Strada Beretta, the ancient road that connected Finalborgo to Milan, you can reach some points of particular interest the Fort of San Giovanni, from which you will have a spectacular view of the village; the remains of the more ancient Castel Govone, the residence of the Marchesi Del Carretto, the lords of Finale; and the churches of Perti Alto: Sant’Eusebio and the Church of the Five Bells.

Here, too, there are numerous trails for nature and history lovers: throughout the year the Archaeological Museum and local associations organise walks and activities that allow everyone to get to know the area
