One hour from Finale is the capital of Liguria, Genova la Superba. In the low season, the municipality organises the ‘Rolli Days’, weekends when it is possible to visit some of the city’s most majestic palaces, located on Via Garibaldi. These are luxurious palaces dating back to the Renaissance and Baroque periods, some of which are now private residences and museum venues, as well as UNESCO World Heritage sites.

From Via Garibaldi it is easy to reach Piazza De Ferrari, a key point of the city as some of the symbols of Genoa intersect there: the Carlo Felice Theatre, the Palazzo Ducale and the Cathedral of San Lorenzo. If you love shopping, from Piazza De Ferrari you can quickly reach Via XX Settembre, the most fashionable street in Genoa, full of trendy shops: remember to also take a look at the crossroads of the main street because they will lead you to unexpected places! Also from the Piazza, you can take the metro and reach different parts of the city in no time!

From the picturesque streets of the Old Town, which has always been a meeting place for different cultures and nationalities, you can reach the Porto Antico area. Here you must stop at the Aquarium, visited by thousands and thousands of tourists every year, and the largest in Europe. Children – but also adults – will be delighted to observe the different species present: dolphins, sharks, penguins, manatees, seals and tropical fish, to name but a few! Moreover, you will have the chance to actually stroke some stingrays in the touch tank!

Ten minutes from the Aquarium you can take the little ones to the Children’s City, a three thousand square metre child-friendly facility with spaces dedicated to play, science and technology. Children will have the opportunity to develop their skills and knowledge through activities that stimulate curiosity and logic.

Also in the Porto Antico area, we suggest an unusual experience: Dialogue in the Dark, a real sensory journey in the total absence of light, where the simplest gestures become a challenge. The activity is promoted by the ONLUS David Chiossone and aims to break down barriers between blind and sighted people, giving the latter an alternative experience of reality.
